about me

About Jeremy

Since 2000, I have been working with kids and their families in different capacities. I completed my training in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology in 2010, and while much of my formal training was with adults from a more long-term, depth approach, much of my initial experience was working with kids in community mental health in lower-income families. I received further training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) through Harborview Center for Sexual Assault & Traumatic Stress, and more recently, I received training in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) through an EMDRIA-approved training site, which I am able to use with both kids and adults. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor & Supervisor in the State of Texas (TX Lic# 71786). Aside from my work as a therapist, I have also been an assistant instructor at The Seattle School for classes related to children and adolescents, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy and relational psychoanalysis. I am also the Clinical Director in my group practice, The Oakwood Collaborative, and our training clinic, Oakwood Roots. I have spoken to various groups on self-care, working with children & adolescents, and parenting. In Fall 2019, I will also begin a 2 year post-graduate certificate program in Relational Psychoanalysis.
